The display of panoramic images ( by that  I mean images with aspect ratios greater than 2) is a bit of a problem on a web site.  At the present time there doe not seem to be a functional solution.  The Zoomify javascript set of programs will do the job but don't seem to work with Backdrom CMS.  These java script solutions work properly with Drupal 7 but I can't seem to link to their static directory. I'  still onvestigating this problem.

The display of panoramic images is a problem on Backdrop CMS.  Scaling does not provide an adequate solution.  It generally results in a wide short image which is so compressed as to be unreadable.

There are several apparent solutions non of which are sufficient in my opinion. The use of Colorbox, PanZoom , and / or Panelium modules.

Of the three I have used Colorbox to provide a clickable access to a larger image than that on the originally displayed content.  It just does not  give  enough control or magnification.
